Katherin Hervey is an award-winning filmmaker and visual storyteller who is interested in what is hiding in the corners of the American landscape and our collective psyches, believing truth is often found in the dark before it shines in the light. With a background in art and law, she approaches each project as both a creative canvas and a storytelling opportunity, crafting cinematic artistry that draws viewers into authentic human experiences. Her latest film, The Prison Within (Amazon Prime, Discovery+), has won multiple awards, including Best Social Justice Documentary at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival & the Evident Change Media for a Just Society Award, recognizing impactful work in the criminal legal system.

A prominent advocate for criminal legal reform, her insights have been featured in Business Insider, The Guardian, Forbes, and more. She holds a Juris Doctorate from Loyola Law School. Her mixed media artworks and creative fiction have been exhibited in galleries and published in online and print literary journals.
